Launching from Rutenews.online (13/01/24), in the 13th Edition,
TomTom Traffic Index, issued its latest data, related to the placement of
Jakarta which occupied 30th in the list of the world's most congested cities in
2023 yesterday. Meanwhile, in 2022, Jakarta was in 29th position. That is, this
is a decrease compared to the previous year.
Not only that, the TomTom Traffic Index also selects and ranks 387
cities in 55 countries and 6 continents. The purpose of issuing this Index, is
none other than to find out and rank several cities, which are seen from based
on average travel time, and provide free access to information from
city-by-city.
Then, from TomTom's Traffic Index data, it is based on Floating Car
Data or (FCD). TomTom also mentioned that the data is generated from several
sources, aiming to create traffic services for their clients.
TomTom at the time explained that travel time in many cities is the
result of several factors or factors that can be grouped into quasi-static
factors such as road infrastructure, capacity and speed, and dynamic factors
such as traffic jam Current changes. Static factors determine the optimal
travel time of a city, dynamic factors determine changes in traffic flow, and
the sum of the two forms the travel time.
There will be fewer bookings in 2023 than before, but the travel
time required from Jakarta will increase.
TomTom then listed the busiest day in Jakarta in 2023, March 9,
2023, as the worst day to travel to Jakarta. It took drivers 30 minutes and 10
seconds to travel 10 kilometers that day.
According to the TomTom Traffic Index 2023, the list of the 10
busiest cities in the world are London, Dublin, Toronto, Milan, Lima,
Bangalore, Pune, Bucharest, Manila and Brussels.
